FAQs

Xpress Auto Glass
  • Will my new windshield or auto glass be covered under a warranty?

Yes. Each windshield installation includes our lifetime warranty. This warranty remains valid for the entire duration of your vehicle ownership and is honored whenever a claim is submitted.
  • What insurance companies do you work with?

We work with all insurance companies. Since our establishment in 1990, we have assisted customers through the claims process with hundreds of different insurance providers. Our experience includes thousands of replacements for major carriers including Geico, Farmers, Allstate, USAA, Hartford, and Progressive, as well as numerous regional insurance companies.
  • Are your technicians certified?

Xpress Auto Glass was among the first auto glass companies to achieve AGRSS™ (Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council) registration. The AGRSS™ is an accredited American National Standards Institute (ANSI™) standards development organization. Our AGRSS™ registration confirms that our technicians have completed the training and education required to install your windshield properly and safely according to AGRSS™ industry standards. The Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS™) Council Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to safe auto glass replacement, founded and supported by companies that prioritize safe installation.
  • Do you provide a free mobile service to replace my windshield or auto glass?

Yes. We offer complimentary mobile installation services for most replacements. Our technicians will come to your home or workplace at no additional charge. This service ensures you do not need to dedicate an entire day to waiting for your windshield replacement.
  • How long will it take to replace my windshield?

The installation typically requires 45 minutes to one hour. However, you should wait until the vehicle is safe to drive before operating it. Safe drive-away times generally range from 45 minutes to two hours, depending on your vehicle and the adhesive type used.
  • What is OEM quality glass? Is it important?

OEM quality glass refers to glass manufactured by companies contracted to produce glass for vehicle manufacturers. We source most of our glass from Pilkington, PPG, and Mygrant. This is significant because these three companies are the largest original equipment auto glass suppliers in your area, ensuring the glass meets the strict specifications required by your vehicle's manufacturer.
  • What types of adhesives do you use?

We use Essex 428 adhesives exclusively. Essex is a leading manufacturer of automobile glass replacement adhesives. We selected Essex for their fast and reliable adhesive system. Our current products include their high viscosity and primerless adhesive formulations. These products ensure your new windshield meets FMVSS 208/212 windshield requirements for both dual airbag and non-dual airbag vehicles in as little as 30 minutes and no more than two hours under normal conditions (temperatures between 32F and 119F with normal humidity).
  • Does Xpress Auto Glass replace parts other than just the windshield? What about door windows or the back glass?

Yes. We can replace virtually every piece of glass originally installed in your vehicle, including windshields, door windows, back glass, quarter windows, vent windows, panoramic roof panels, and glass for high-end vehicles. Most vehicles contain a combination of laminated and tempered glass. Windshields and panoramic roof panels may use laminated glass, while tempered glass is typically used for back, door, quarter, and vent windows. Our technicians are fully trained to replace these various glass components and work with a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
  • What is the difference between tempered and laminated glass?

Laminated glass is used for windshield manufacturing. A laminated windshield consists of two plate glass layers with a rubber-like laminate layer between them. This construction prevents penetration from either direction. When severely damaged, a windshield typically remains intact. Tempered glass is plate glass that undergoes special heat treatment so it does not form sharp shards when broken. Most non-windshield glass is tempered, and when it breaks, it fragments into hundreds of small pieces without the long, sharp edges associated with standard broken glass.
  • What role does the windshield play in my vehicle's safety?

The windshield plays a substantial safety role that has increased significantly over time with innovations like passenger side airbags and lightweight materials in automotive construction. The passenger side airbag deploys upward initially, then deflects off the windshield toward the passenger, exerting considerable pressure on the windshield. Modern vehicles feature progressively larger windshields and smaller roofs, meaning more glass and less metal protect occupants during rollover accidents. Using substandard adhesives or windshields can prevent your windshield from providing the protection your vehicle manufacturer designed.
  • Can you replace my auto glass if it is raining?

Not a good Idea. We go to great lengths to equip our installers with the tools necessary to perform perfect installations. Installing glass in the rain can cause a multitude of weather-related problems for both you and the installer. In markets where wet weather is to be expected, we ask customers to schedule an in-shop appointment.
  • Do you offer calibration services?

Yes. Xpress Auto Glass offers calibration services when required as part of your auto glass service. Our team can help determine whether calibration is needed for your vehicle and assist with the appropriate service following a glass replacement.
